On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the Global Shea Alliance and Shea Network Ghana launched the International Shea 2026 Expo.
The event garnered goodwill messages from the NDA, GEPA, TCDA, UDS, and the 24-hour economy office. Attendees included three paramount chiefs from the Tolon, Zugu, and Yaape Traditional areas.
The northern regional minister delivered the keynote speech and officially launched Shea Expo 2026, themed ‘Beyond Borders.’ The key message of the event was that the development and growth of Shea require collective effort, underscoring the need for everyone to collaborate to advance the Shea agenda.
The main event is scheduled for April 27-29, 2026, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
In his solidarity speech, NDA CEO Dr. Emmanuel Abeere-Inga highlighted that the Shea sector is a crucial rural economic resource in Northern Ghana. He also stressed the Authority’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for development partners, private sector entities, and value chain networks to promote national growth.
He also mentioned that the NDA would leverage its coordination role to secure the needed support from both the government and the private sector to enhance the shea industry.
The CEO was accompanied by Viaian Nabie, Acting Director of Economic Development, and Eunice Akpeere, Northern Regional Lead and NDA’s representative on the Local Organizing Committee for the Conference.
