The Northern Development Authority (NDA), in collaboration with Takara Services Limited and technical partners, is making significant progress in establishing agricultural mechanization centers to improve farmers’ access to modern machinery and agricultural services across Northern Ghana. On September 18, 2026, the NDA hosted Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) at its Head Office in Tamale for a technical presentation on proposed designs to remodel and rehabilitate the ICOUR workshop in Tono, Kassena Nankana Municipality, Upper East Region. The NDA participated in a panel discussion titled "Scaling Shea Enterprises: Transitioning informal or small-scale businesses into competitive, investment-ready enterprises." The Northern Development Authority joins the Environmental Protection Agency to launch the Climate Resilient Landscapes for Sustainable Livelihoods in Northern Ghana (CRLSLNG) on Tuesday the 9/9/26 at Marriott Hotel in Accra. CRLSLNG is a data driven climate restoration and economic productivity project funded by the Green Climate Fund. The funding amounting to Seven (7) million dollars would be implemented by EPA and GMets with MoFA and Water Resources Commission (WRC) as the supporting implementating partners respectively. The Northern Development Authority is amongst the steering committee to ensure that the development planning framework of the North is well aligned to the project. This project would cover eight (8) district in the Upper West (3), North East (3) and Upper East (2) regions.

The Northern Development Authority (NDA) yesterday joined the Social Investment Fund (SIF) at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) to brief regional leadership on the newly introduced Ghana Women and Youth Employment and Social Cohesion Programme (GWYESCO). GWYESCO, a four-year initiative (2026–2029) financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), will be implemented by SIF in partnership with NDA and other implementing partners under the Ministry of Finance. A select committee of the upcoming World Shea Expo, comprising representatives from PIAA and SGTL, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Emmanuel Abeere-Inga, yesterday, September 1, 2026, at the NDA Accra Liaison Office. The visit aimed to formally deliver an official invitation to the Authority and to inform the CEO about major innovations, activities, and expectations for this year's Expo. The CEO of NDA Dr. Emmanuel Abeere-Inga held a very fruitful meeting with the International Non Governmental Organisations working in Northern Ghana on the 21st August, 2025 at the NDA office in Accra. The discussions centered on issues of development coordination, stakeholder mapping, the Northern Caucus parliamentary initiatives, thematic working groups enhancement and the upcoming 2025 Northern Ghana Development Summit scheduled for November this year.
