The Northern Development Authority (NDA) yesterday joined the Social Investment Fund (SIF) at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) to brief regional leadership on the newly introduced Ghana Women and Youth Employment and Social Cohesion Programme (GWYESCO).

GWYESCO, a four-year initiative (2026–2029) financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB), will be implemented by SIF in partnership with NDA and other implementing partners under the Ministry of Finance. The programme is designed to promote economic inclusion, job creation, entrepreneurship, skills development, access to finance, and social cohesion for women and youth.
The Acting Chief Director of NRCC, Mr. Sumaila Ewuntomah Abudu, assured SIF and NDA of the Council’s full support, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
A stakeholder engagement in Tamale on 14 September 2026 will bring together key actors to deliberate on programme objectives and strategies for delivery. NDA remains committed to working with partners to empower women and youth, strengthen livelihoods, and advance inclusive development across the Northern Ecological Zone
